About
I am a Professor of Business Analytics at the Department of Business Administration, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey.
I hold a PhD degree from Warwick Business School, UK (2009-2013). Since 2013, I am employed as a faculty member at Hacettepe University. Currently, I am serving as the director of Hacettepe University Energy Markets Research & Application Center and as the managing director of Center for Energy and Value Issues, Netherlands.
I produce research papers, participate in research projects, supervise theses and teach.
Research
Over the years of my academic career, I took part in several journal publications, books, and book chapters I aimed to pursue consistent research productivity with at least 2-3 publications every year. I position my research in the fields of Operational Research (OR) and Business Analytics. These areas aim to provide decision support to all functions of businesses using mathematical modeling.
Focus
My research focuses on the use of different quantitative methods in a variety of domains such as Energy & Environment, Agriculture, Higher Education, and Finance. I can position my research framework within the scope of decision aiding public or private business sectors. I believe in the importance of methodological contributions unique to specific problems. I usually shape my research around a real-world problem with real-world datasets and make use of various tools to provide decision support or policy implications. Some examples:
